Jesus commanded His disciples to practice love so that they can be reflectors of the light of love wherever they are. Someone who lives in God's love will have love for others, love that is accompanied by concrete actions. The purpose of this study is for believers to understand that the love they share or express to others is not only an act of social life, but also an authentic demonstration of the love that comes from Christ Jesus. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method that uses the four-layer exegesis method of biblical meaning. The four layers consist of the first layer (Historia/Sarkic), the second layer, (Theoria/Noetic/spiritual meaning), the third layer (Psychic/moral), and the fourth layer (Anagogic/Escatology). Thus, through the principle of excavation, it shows the result that loving one's neighbor is the lifestyle of every follower of Christ.
2023-08-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Mitra Sriwijaya: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen https://sttsriwijaya.ac.id/e-journal/index.php/mitra_sriwijaya/article/view/71 Dalihan Na Tolu (DNT) Sebagai Rekonsiliasi Konflik Agama Islam-Kristen Dalam Masyarakat Batak 2023-03-23T01:40:20+00:00 Zulkarnain Siagian zulkarnainsiagian@gmail.com Ewen Josua Silitonga ewenjosua@gmail.com
Batak society is heterogeneous in embracing religion, in particular, most Batak people embrace Islam and Christianity, and in the historical context of Islam-Christian relations and interactions experience conflict. The study is conducted with a culture-based conflict reconciliation methodology with a library research method, looking for documents, books or literature related to the topic. Dalihan Na Tolu (DNT) as the pulse of Batak custom is able to unite religious differences in the Batak tribe in the public sphere, so DNT needs to be developed as conflict reconciliation due to religious differences in Batak society, especially Islam-Christianity.
2023-08-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Mitra Sriwijaya: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen https://sttsriwijaya.ac.id/e-journal/index.php/mitra_sriwijaya/article/view/76 Hukum Taurat Menurut Rasul Paulus Dan Relevansinya 2023-05-12T06:22:18+00:00 Pitta Uli Hutagalung delvitauli93@gmail.com Krisda Mahdalena Sinaga Delvitauli93@gmail.com
The law is God's commandment that shows His love and will. For this reason, the law becomes something that is important to be applied in the lives of God's people. However, it seems that there are contradictions regarding the law in Paul's letters both among theologians and people in general, giving rise to various interpretations. This diversity of interpretations raises questions about what the true essence of the law is that can still be relevant for God's people to apply today. Therefore, this article wants to describe the theological meaning of the law in Paul's writings that are relevant to the practical application of God's people today. This effort is carried out by the author by reviewing the background of some of Paul's letters which describe the law, so that he can further extract the theological values of the law contained therein. Through this, it can be understood that the law is practically relevant today by understanding that the law is all forms of feelings and actions that emanate from the heart to manifest love for God and others
2023-08-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Mitra Sriwijaya: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen https://sttsriwijaya.ac.id/e-journal/index.php/mitra_sriwijaya/article/view/94 Sumbangsih Pemikiran John Hick: Teologi Misi Dalam Pluralisme Agama Di Indonesia 2023-07-14T12:39:27+00:00 Edy Leonardo Hutahaen edyleonardoh@gmail.com Nancy Frisca Lumban Tobing nancytobing0@gmail.com
This article wrote about the attitude of Christianity in relation to other religions. These parables remain relevant in the context of today's life which is very complex in its aspects of life. Apart from that, the reading of parables is often read in an allegorical style that has been passed down by the church fathers and has been going on for a very long time. The church should have a new way of reading parable texts to get a more contextual meaning of the text today. This article tries to present an existentialist approach to reading the parables of Jesus, namely one of reading parable texts by understanding these parables as pure parables of that era. The writer argues that by reading Luke 18: 9-14 with an existentialist approach, the meaning of justification intended by Jesus in the text will be found clearly.
2023-08-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Mitra Sriwijaya: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen
